Shelby Township, MI – [April 08, 2025] – SAPA Transmission is taking the industry’s most significant leap forward in high-performance transmission systems for combat vehicles with a major capital investment. Through these multi-million dollar initiatives, SAPA Transmission is developing the most sophisticated and advanced transmission test cells possible. This milestone marks a transformative step in the company’s commitment to innovation, quality, and mission-readiness—in support of the warfighter.

As part of SAPA Transmission’s ongoing modernization initiative, these state-of-the-art test cells incorporate best-in-class technology, processes, and talent. Designed to rigorously test, validate, and refine next-generation combat vehicle transmissions, two new test cells set a new standard in performance, precision, and reliability. These two new test cells will complement the current pair of test cells that SAPA Transmission currently operates within their Shelby Township facility making SAPA Transmission one of the rare companies with one dynamometer capable of testing a full-up engine/transmission powerpack (FUPP), one dynamometer that can simulate any engine paired with live transmission testing, and two end of line dynamometers.

The 110,000-square-foot facility is being configured to accommodate the highest-end technologies, additional test cells, and designated zones for future expansion while supporting the current capacity. Crates of advanced equipment have already arrived, signaling the rapid pace of development underway.
